Level 1 Umpiring Course - Friday 7 July

Do you want to take your umpiring to the next level?

We are looking to hold a Level 1 Umpiring practical course and practical evaluation components over the Great Southern Carnival weekend.

The Level 1 Umpire Training Program is designed to train umpires in the fundamental concepts of umpiring including fitness, positioning, signals and ensuring the safety and enjoyment of players.

It is an enjoyable and convenient training program involving an online learning session, an applied learning quiz, a practical course and a practical evaluation. The program is directed towards parents, players and umpires who are involved in umpiring club hockey, Intra-state Championships and low level National Championships. The Level 1 Umpire training program can be accessed as an educational resource for currently accredited individuals, as well as being a training requirement for those wishing to obtain their Level 1 Umpire Accreditation.

What to do now? Firstly you need to register your interest in taking part in this course over the Great Southern Carnival weekend to Dinah Gordon, LGSHA Hockey Development Officer email do@lgshockey.asn.au Numbers are capped at 20, so it will be first in, first served.

Once the course has been confirmed you will need to log on to Hockey Ed, and register to become a Level 1 Umpire, then follow the coursework. A $50 fee is payable via PayPal to register for the course through Hockey Ed http://hockeyed.hockey.org.au/

This fee includes your accreditation.

More information will be available soon.

AGM - Saturday 8 July 5:30pm

The Great Southern Hockey Carnival AGM will be held on Saturday at 5.30pm at the Administration office. One representative per club is required to attend.

Elders Great Southern Carnival Dinner - Saturday 8 July 7:00pm

Due to the rather small size of our clubrooms, the Elders Great Southern Carnival Dinner is to be held at a larger venue. This venue is about 750m from the Clubrooms.

The event starts at 7.00pm. To ensure we have everyone covered, a ticket will be needed to get in to the dinner. For teams having paid the dinner entrance fee with their nomination fee, the tickets will be in the welcome pack.

If you need a ticket, please pay at the Office on Saturday morning. There is a limit on ticket numbers so first in first served.

Please remember the Elders Carnival Dinner will be a licensed event and any under 18’s will need to be accompanied by a parent.
